We are La Gritona, fervent supporters of Mexican traditions, specifically in food culture. Our products are 100% made in Mexico with the distinctive taste based in our folklore. La Gritona’s mission is to share our traditional taste all over the world, keeping it alive in the heat of every kitchen.

Our folklore is related to one of many Mexican traditions, a game called Lotería (Lottery, kind of bingo). It is a game of chance that uses images related to Mexican popular culture on a deck of cards. Each player has one board with a grid of images randomly settled. Each card of the deck with a different picture, is shuffled by the shouter (in Spanish “el gritón”, masculine and “la gritona” feminine). One by one, la gritona (the shouter) picks a card from the deck announcing it to the player by its name, using a rogue verse before reading the card name. Each player matches the image of the board to the card announced by la gritona (the shouter). The typical markers are bean seeds, bottle caps or small rocks. When one of the players completes the board, he/she should shout: “Lotería”, indicating that he/she is the winner. Hence our slogan: Being a good shouter, tasted good.
